Updated 19 July 2026
Olive oil prices are currently falling. In the week of 19 July 2026 the EU extra virgin olive oil index stood at €3.69 per litre, a change of -3.9% versus the previous week.
| Period | Then (€/L) | Now (€/L) | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 week | 3.84 | 3.69 | -3.9% |
| 1 month | 3.93 | 3.69 | -6.1% |
| 3 months | 4.36 | 3.69 | -15.4% |
Spain produces roughly half of the world's olive oil, so Spanish harvest conditions dominate the European price. Drought and heat during flowering cut yields and push prices up; a large harvest in Andalusia pulls the whole index down. Stock levels carried over from the previous campaign, demand from Italian bottlers and the price gap between grades (extra virgin, virgin, lampante) explain most of the remaining weekly movement.
